Job Title: Community Outreach and Program Manager Date: March/3/2011
Reports to: President and General Manager
Introduction: In April 2011 Parya Trillium Foundation will open its new non-profit community space in order to meet the prioritized needs of the Iranian Canadian community and the needs of our diverse neighbourhood including a wide range of incomes. Our 9,600 square foot space is located at 344 John St., Markham Ontario and is currently under renovation. Parya Trillium Foundation’s new center will be the hub for the Iranian community and the neighbourhood as a whole. In the coming years, our aim is to provide quality programs and services that would respond to the needs of this vibrant and growing community. This community centre will also strengthen the ties to the Canadian society through the services offered to its members, especially to young people and seniors. This centre will also help newcomers to settle and integrate more easily into Canadian society and workforce.
Responsibilities:
The Community Outreach and Program Manager will join our talented team of staff and volunteers who are passionate about fostering the Iranian-Canadian community in the GTA and across Canada. The Community Outreach and Program Manager will design and lead community outreach activities; engage members/users, volunteers and liaise with program partners and program providers.
The Community Outreach and Program Manager will: · identify, develop contracts with, and manage program partners
· identify, recruit and manage volunteers who lead program activities
· identify, develop and lead programs personally as appropriate to talents and skills
· conduct community outreach to members/users and potential members/users using strategies that are demographically effective, and promote the diversity of our neighbourhood
· conduct, document and analyze customer research on potential programs that fit with our mission, and potential program providers
· set pricing for programs using a sliding scale payment system
· manage program costs and budgets
· participate in proposal writing and program development of the centre
· develop, implement and manage a Volunteer Management System for program volunteers as well as operational volunteers
· design evaluation systems and conduct regular program evaluation to ensure continuous improvement
· manage online and print program calendar, as well as program promotion
· manage partners’ contract and contract information
· perform other duties and responsibilities as required by our evolving dynamic organization
Qualifications:
The ideal candidate will have:
· three or more years of experience in program management for seniors, adults, children and families
· two or more years experience with program budgets
· Bilingual (English and Farsi)
· strong contract negotiation and management skills
· strong research and evaluation experience including online surveys, focus groups, and face to face interviews, as well as strong documentation and analysis skills
· excellent communication, organizational and writing skills
· strong data management and reporting skills and commitment to using data to improve programs
· excellent computer skills and experience using online office tools like Google Apps, and online contract management systems
· enthusiasm for community service enhancement
This full-time salaried position does not include benefits. Salary is dependent upon experience. Candidate must be able to work at home, as well as at our future space at 344 John St.
